When you are out in the field, here are some other things to remember. While your game camera is rugged and built for outdoor/all weather use, if you follow these simple common sense tips than you will better help to keep your new trail camera working well for years to come. First, even though your camera is waterproof, try to avoid dropping it or submerging it in standing water. Rain water is different than a cow pond! Also, when you pack up your camera to take it on the trail, try to pack it in a secure bag or case.  It won’t pay to have your camera jostling around on the floor of your truck. Maybe wrap it with some bubble wrap and put  it in a backpack. Or, buy a nice hard case for it with foam padding. All of these are different ways that you can prevent un-necessary wear and tear on your game camera.

After every use, make sure to inspect your camera for damage. If there are cracks in the water-proof casing, contact the company. If you didn’t cause it, they will fix it. Or, if it is out of warranty, maybe fix it yourself with some silicon. Carefully inspect your camera for damage before and after every use. Also, make sure and dry off your camera before putting it away for awhile. Also, if you change your batteries or chip out in the field, try to make sure the replacements are not wet. It won’t due to have moisture inside your camera. It is also a good idea to put some kind of moisture absorption device/material in your camera to take care of condensation.
